The day started well with stand in skipper Hooper winning the toss and electing to bat first. The Rotherwick boys got off to a brisk start with Steve Guye and Hooper moving the score along quickly and reached 49 at the beginning of the 11th over when Guye was removed for 20, Vallis came and went quickly without scoring, still brooding over Saturday抯 travails, and Jasper Morris (4), back from his travels also followed quickly afterwards leaving Rotherwick in a precarious position of 56 for 3. Paul Appleton joined Hooper and business began to pick up, Appleton firing shots all around the wicket moved the score quickly along and brought up the 50 partnership between the pair just before Hooper fell for 30 with the score on 107 for 4. It was left to Lewis Benge to join Appleton for what appeared to be the defining partnership of the match. With a rain delay shortening the match it was decided to make it a 35 overs a side game. Benge joined Appleton in the 24th over and the runs flowed freely from that point. Appleton past fifty for the first time this season and went on to score a career best 77 not out, Benge chipping in with 19 not out making an unbeaten stand of 74 in a little over 11 overs as Rotherwick ITW totalled 181 for 4, an impressive target as Rotherwick ITW looking once again in a strong position. A strong start to the Froxfield innings saw Adam Cordery bowl the opener first ball of the innings, but after 14 overs of the innings with Cordery having figures of 7𣇼0-1 and fellow opener Adie Turnbull figures of 7-1-28-0 the rains came down again and the match was lost to rain. A draw was the outcome in what looked like could have been an interesting game. The Sunday boys maintain there unbeaten season as we move into the second half of June.
